Erik Sundelof

Erik comes from an academic background in advanced chemical technology, computer science, mathematics and numerical analysis. He has a PhD Licentiate in Technology, Numerical analysis, and a Master in Science, Chemical Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He is also a core developer of the social software packages developed by Barnraiser such as AroundMeand a member of the Swedish brilliant student talent network Nova100.

He was a fellow at Reuters Digital Vision Program (http://www.rdvp.org) at Stanford University 2005-2006. He founded inthefieldONLINE.net and has been in numerous media interviews such as for instance PBS, CNN and BBC. His work at Stanford University as well as inthefieldONLINE.net resulted in coverage on Discovery International’s Rewind 2006 where it was selected as one of the 25th highlights of the Year 2006.

Currently he is working as an associate director for SCIL (Stanford Center for Innovations in Learning) at Stanford University, where he focuses on building, facilitating and nurturing collaborative initiatives between Sweden and Stanford, both in the academic and industrial world. Part of that he has been responsible for several high level visits such as visits by the presidents of the major universities in Sweden as well as industrial leaders. He was also responsible for facilitating and supporting the visit to Stanford University by the US ambassadors in the Nordic countries in April 2007 to discuss the CleanTech.

He is considered as a social media and front end development expert with the emphasis on building sustainable and intuitive user interfaces and community building. He frequently consults in social software/media, , new media, user generated media, online group dynamics and web 2.0. He is also an expert in the arhcitecture and deployment of cellphone applications, especially focusing on the user experience.
